CAROLYN WATSON, LPCA
Carolyn received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Huntington University’s Townsend Institute. She was able to train under Dr. John Townsend, a nationally recognized clinical psychologist and New York Times best-selling author. During graduate training, Carolyn completed a practicum at Kettering Weight Loss Center in Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, she completed internship placements at both a counseling center within a church and a large private practice. Prior to graduate school, Carolyn attended Cedarville University, while receiving a Track & Field / Cross Country scholarship. While pursuing athletic and academic excellence, Carolyn graduated with academic honors and contributed to her team’s success at conference and national championships. Carolyn was also honored by the Ohio Psychological Association for her undergraduate research in eating disorder characteristics among high school athletes.
Prior to joining Synergy Group, Carolyn conducted group therapy for those pursuing recovery from substance use disorders. Additionally, Carolyn has previous experience working in private practice with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, and other clinical concerns.
Carolyn’s love for running has created opportunities for her to compete at both the college and professional level. Her husband is a former college teammate turned life teammate. She enjoys running with her training partners in Greenville, exploring South Carolina with friends and family, walking her miniature Dachshund named Willy, and trying every coffee and taco shop Greenville has to offer.
